BOARD MEETING NEXT WEDNESDAY, JANUARY
14TH AT 12:00 NOON
NOTES/Remarks:
- Lion Bud Byrd noted the Camp will have
a board meeting this weekend. The
meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. this Saturday at the Isle of Capri Hotel (old
Hilton near Old Minden Road). Dinner
(free) will be furnished Saturday evening at the Bossier Hut.
Meetings resume at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Any Lion member is invited. Call
Lion Bud for additional details.
- Lions Gloria and Craig have
a sign-up sheet for selling tickets for the NEXT Corvette. You are needed at the World of Wheels
Show in Shreveport January 16-18. Their
home phone number is 631.7498.
- Prez Ed Ball is in reception of a
letter of appreciation from the Natchitoches Lions Club. They are appreciative of Lions Craig,
Gloria, Jimmie and Bud for helping to sell Corvette tickets during
the Christmas Festival.
- Lion Mike Middleton asked
the NSLC to be the sponsoring club for a new South Bossier City Lions Club.
It seems everyone is in agreement to it.
The information/recruiting meeting will be at the Arena Barbecue
Restaurant (next to CenturyTel Arena) on February 2nd or 3rd. Please let anyone you know who lives in/near
South Bossier City / Parish / or even southeast Shreveport of the pending
club.
- As your Yellow Rag editor, I apologize some
things have occurred which may necessitate me missing a lot of meetings.
I will do my best in attendance at meetings and to continue the Rag. Please bear with me. Thanks.
- A reception is being planned for March 21st
at the State Exhibit Museum. The
guest will be the granddaughter of Helen Keller. Please plan to attend and show our appreciation
for her traveling to Shreveport. More details available later.
Tailtwisting: Lion TT Bill Archambeau had Lion
Scott Harkey walking the pot. The
birthday members for January had “the song” sung to them: Lions Paul Little,
Mike Middleton, Oscar Smith, and Jerry Paige. Other January happenings: Club Anniversaries – Lions Bob Allen
and Ed Ball; Spouse Birthdays: Marie (Lion Harold Wright) and Michelle
Ball (Lion Ed Ball) – CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!! After all the congratulations, there was a series of “nit-picking”
on folks. Then, onto television trivia
– A good fun day – Thanks Lion Archambeau.

| Program: Lion Paul Little presented long-time banker Mr. Duke
Griffey, now with Bancorp South. He generally reflected over the history of banking, interest rates,
loans, inflations/depressions – the good and the bad. A great program by a really great, at-ease
speaker and hard to keep up with on all the territory he covered. AGAIN, ANOTHER
REASON --- YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE. |

Paige failed to draw the Queen of Hearts – over $310 next week.
