Lion Gloria Kennedy is needing help selling tickets at this weekend’s World of Wheels show – Gloria’s phone number is 318.631.7498…The Grand Prize is a 1964 Chevy Corvette and the funds go to the Eye Foundation. Please help!!!

 

·                    January 23rdPast Presidents to meet at 1:00 p.m. to nominate members for 3rd Vice-President slot

·                    January 22nd – Cubsight screening at the Providence House Day Care (Lion Robert Schwartz)

·                    February 2nd – District 8-L Mid-winter conference in Jonesboro.

·                    March 7th – Irish Auction at the University Club – Din-din at 6:30 p.m. and the auction at 7:00 p.m. – we need lots of prizes to be donated and lots of guests (Lion Jennie Moore is chairing).

·                    April 25th – Rose Day (Lion Stuart Reeks is the chair)

·                    The “Book” sales are going well… Lion Craig Kennedy wants to conclude the project on 1/23rd.

·                    Lion Hubert Gleason announced the Nut Project profit over $820 – thanks Hubert.

·                    Lion Robert Schwartz is assembling a committee to address acquisition and retaining of Lions members

 

Doyline lion david bazer IS HAVING A SOME GOOD DAYS – KEEP THE PRAYERS GOING!

 

Tailtwisting:  Lion TT Bill Archambeau had Lion Gabby Garbarino threatening folks with the pot.  There were just a few fines for abnormal behavior.  Then the TT allowed Lion Larry LaBorde to tell about an event where he was mistakenly arrested/detained in Monroe recently. Lion Jimmie Giles warned members about being near Monroe as they have been beat so often by Jimmie’s favorite team – Evangel Christian Academy.

 

Program:  Lion Kevin Anderson presented two speakers from Community Support Programs, Inc.  They spoke about Access a program that assists folks in building/purchasing their first home.  The speakers were Donna Baylor Givan and Jennifer Klimiuk.  Stringent guidelines are enforced and recipients undergo intense training on credit counseling and family responsibility and needs issues.  For more information, call them at 318.865.1422.

 

Ticket Drawings: The red ticket winners were: Lions Paul Little and Harold Wright.

 

BLUE TICKET:  Lion Robert Schwartz won the chance but pulled the  5 of diamonds.

 

Attendance Prize: Lion Gary Kennedy was not present to collect the money.

 

MAJOR PROJECTS: Louisiana Lions Childrens’ Camp, LSU Eye Foundation, Northwest Louisiana Eye Bank, Louisiana Association for the Blind, Northwood High School Leo Club, Scholarships for Northwood and Green Oaks High Schools
