NOTES/Remarks:

Yesterday’s BOARD MEETING news:

Tailtwisting:  Lion TT Bill Archambeau had Lion Oscar Smith passing the bread basket-pot.  The usual nit picking occurred and then lots of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire questions were asked --- and received a few answers.  Lion Charlie Smith told us the Bible denotes that the man is supposed to make the coffee – it is in the Book of Hebrew.

Program:  Lion Cindy Fortson introduced Caddo District Judge B. Woodrow Nesbitt.  He gave an overview on the duties and responsibilities of a District Judge.  He also addressed the various judicial districts within Caddo Parish.   He gave his perspective on the makeup of the sub-districts within Caddo Parish.  The Judge noted that the current “map lines” are there to assure racial equality for voting – he disagrees and feels the public is smarter and more fair than that – he noted how three black judges were once elected parish-wide – Judges Carl and James Stewart and Paul Lynch.  THE DISTRICTS DO NOT FAIRLY/CORRECTLY RESPRESENT THE MAKE-UP OF THE CURRENT SUB-DISTRICTS.  He believes that each judge should be elected in a parish-wide election – rather than the status quo of election by districts.

Ticket Drawings: The red ticket winners were: Lions Ed Stevenson  and Robbie Raiford.

BLUE TICKET: Lion Patricia Schwartz failed to draw the Queen of Hearts.

Attendance Prize: Lion Harold Wright was not present to collect the start-over pot.
