Tailtwisting:  Lion TT Archambeau had Lion Merle Gore passing the pot.  A few late comers and almost late comers were fined.  He then hit us with more local trivia questions.

PROGRAM: Lion Bryan Self introduced Mr. Terry Pipes, son of another dearly departed member, Lion Walter Pipes.  Terry spoke to us about Stretching Yourself.  He is well versed in the subject.  He gave each member in attendance a U.S. map showing the route for the “Iron Butt Rally”, a grilling 11,031 mile motorcycle trip done in ELEVEN (11) days that started and ended in Missoula, Montana.  He has done this project four times and each time has placed in the top 20 riders.  He’ll be doing it again in August/September starting in Denver, Colorado.  He spoke of how all riders must have detailed information to show at each checkpoint.  At one point, the motorcycle’s hose burst in the middle of the desert – he fabricated a make-shift hose in the middle of the desert and was back on the road in seven hours.  This was a great story of what it takes to be a success in this rally – it truly shows how someone can Stretch Yourself.
