NOTES/Remarks:
The April 10th regular meeting will be held at Northwood High School.
We will pay for our own lunches as usual, and this will let us meet our 59 NHS Leo Club members.
Enter parking off Old Mooringsport Road in the west parking lot, then turn left and park underneath the overhead ramp.
Leave your drugs, guns and knives at home.
Tailtwisting: Lion TT Bill Archambeau fined several for being late: Lions Libby Gleason, Bryan Self and Kevin Anderson. Lion Kevin then paid his birthday bounty and the members in attendance sang the song for him. Before the trivia questions, Lion Steve Davitt was noted for April marking his 24th year of Lionism and Lion Scott Harkey for 21 years of service – congratulations to both and thanks for your devotion to Lionism. The TT couldn’t auction off another tax book as he did to Lion Scott last week.
Program: Lion Hubert Gleason introduced Ms. Marie Gregg, a physical therapist with Willis-Knighton Health Systems. She spoke on several subjects and some of the joys of getting older. She spoke of the importance of sleep; if not getting good sleep, can it be too much alcohol; can it be your medicines? She spoke some statistics about the aging-drivers in our nation – in a few years there will be millions and millions of more drivers over age 75. She very much emphasized that many of us suffer from some degree of depression – check yourself and consult professionals if indicated. Active Life Expectancy – increasing the age of one’s quality of life regarding health and mental abilities – it is said ALE is around age 40 – but, we should take care of ourselves and work to increase this age – it truly is a matter of individuals’ lifestyles. Working out is very important in improving everything about your health. Marie’s presentation was very informational and we appreciate her presentation today. A bare minimum – we should all walk everyday – and build-up our length of duration.
