Lion Cindy Fortson’s NSLC anniversary is this month. Lion Patricia Schwartz remembered
that Lion Reeks was eating red beans and rice at yesterday’s Board
Meeting; members who were supposed to be at yesterday’s Board Meeting were
fined if they were not there; then lots of television trivia questions with
lots of joking and quipping made for a great TT session.
Program: Lion Stuart Reeks introduced Mr.
Richard Stewart of the Caddo
Parish 9-1-1 Center. Caddo 911 went on-line in 1989. They
receive about 700 calls per day and calls are taken at a rate about every 6-7
seconds. If you have to use a cellular
phone to call 9-1-1, be sure you provide your exact location where help is
needed since the ability to use GPS is not on-line for a few more years. There was a lengthy Q&A session and Richard gave several actual stories about 9-1-1 calls and
dealings. Several years ago, the Caddo
9-1-1 Center purchased the 800 MHz radio system for local agencies and departments.

Robert Schwartz and Scott Harkey.
