ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Rose Day: Lion President and Rose Day Chair Reeks ask that everyone get their rose money in as soon as possible so we can close the project out before the end of the Lion year. If the money comes in as Lion Stu predicts we should make about $4,300 on this years rose day sale. That would be about a $300 increase over prior year.
Lion President Reeks passed out boat raffle tickets. PDG Bud Byrd will let us know when the boat will be available for display for our ticket sales. Go ahead and be selling tickets, we don't have to wait for the boat The drawing will be held September 24 in conjunction with the Big Bass Rodeo at Cypress Bend.
Another easy fundraiser courtesy of Past President Gloria Kennedy is selling the "Book". This is a book of dining coupons which can be sold for $20 and the club will get $10 of that. See Lion President Reeks to get your books. If you have money and/or books to turn in please get that in to Stu Reeks.
The North Shreveport Lions Installation Banquet will be held at 6:30 pm on June 23, 2005. The location will be a Savoie's (same location as last year). Please let VP Patricia Schwartz know if you will be attending and how many guest you will have.
The District 8-L banquet will be held on Saturday, June 11, at the Ramada Inn in Natchitoches. The Ramada in is located on the bypass.

Tailtwisting
: Lion Tailtwister Bill Archambeau fined the late comers and the President for a late start. He then started in on the Shreveport Bossier trivia with "new questions".PROGRAM: PDG Jimmie Giles introduced Liz Swaine who currently works with the Mayor's office. As usual she gave a fine presentation. She discussed all the things currently going on in Shreveport including the Convention Center, Riverfront Park, Economic Development, and the new traffic light sensors. The traffic sensors are put under the street and can detect if cars are waiting at a light and adjust the changing of the lights accordingly. She also addressed questions from the Club members concerning how the casino boarding fees are disbursed and how the arts are funded. Good Program.

Liz Swaine
