INSTALLATION BANQUET…
IS JUNE 24TH AT 6:30 P.M. AT SAVOIE’S ON E70TH. THE COST IS $18.00 PER PERSON AND IF YOU SIGNUP,
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COVERING THE $18/PERSON COMMITMENT. IT IS ANOTHER MANDATORY MEETING (PLEASE, PLEASE).
THERE WILL NOT BE A NOONTIME MEETING ON THAT DATE – JUNE 24TH.
VISITING: No visitors were in attendance today.
NOTES/Remarks:
- The 8-L Awards Banquet will be this Saturday, June
12th at Crown Dental. District
Governor Pharr needs a headcount NOW at $15.00 each person.

- PDG Lion Giles will
have a part in the Training Conference for 8-L. The Conference will be THIS Sunday, June 13th
in Natchitoches. It is a learning
experience for all – specifically, NSLC’s incoming officers should make
every effort to attend.
- Our “NSLC night” at the
Shreveport Sports on June 17th – batter up at 7:05
p.m.. The cost for the air-conditioned
box is $7.00 a person. It is $1.00
hotdog and beer night. PLEASE
WEAR YOUR VEST. Pick up and pay for your ticket at the
“Will Call Window”.

Ed Ball, and others, have tickets for
the new Corvette raffle.
- Tickets are available
for the fishing boat for the September drawing.
- Lion
Jimmie announced our club will be sponsoring
three diabetic children for this year’s camp.
Tailtwisting: Lion Archambeau kept us entertained with Lion Paul
Little “breaking legs.” A few were fined for arriving late: Lions Cindy Fortson, Oscar Smith, Patricia & Robert
Schwartz, Alan Yokem. Then a few questions were asked in preparing us for the “big” show.
Program: Lion Stuart Reeks introduced Professor Jeff Sadow, a political science professor at LSU-S.
He attended Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt and University of New Orleans.
He gave us his perspective on where our current Louisiana legislative
session is. Pretty much the usual is happening – want to spend money which is
not there – especially on themselves. Dr. Sadow can be
reached at 318.797.5159 or jsadow@pilot.lsus.edu. He spoke of the powers of the Governor and
how lots of bartering occurs in the lawmaking and money distribution processes.
He really gave a lot of more information than is mentioned here – however,
you should have been here to hear this great program.
Jeff then answered
several questions from the audience.
Ticket Drawings: The red ticket winners were:
Lions Ed Stevenson and Lion Russ Peterson.
BLUE TICKET: Lion Bill Archambeau failed to
pull the Queen from the almost new deck.
Attendance Prize: Lion Bob Allen was not
present to collect the pot.
