NEXT WEEK’S PROGRAM: A surprise – President Schwartz asks for all members to attend what will be a club meeting for everyone to receive an overview of her plans for 2005-2006; and the floor will be open for discussion…This sounds like a great way to start the year – Please attend.

THE NSLC BOARD MEETING IS NEXT WEEK, JULY 13, 2005 – ALL MEMBERS ARE INVITED AND THE CLUB’S OFFICERS ARE REALLY MUCH INVITED.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

8-L Cabinet Board Meeting, this Sunday, July 10^th at 2:00 p.m. All NSLC members should make a maximum effort to attend at the Childrens’ Camp.
September 24^th – Big Bass Rodeo – Please sell tickets for the boat raffle.
Lions Bud Byrd and Gloria Kennedy represented the state of Louisiana at the International Conference in Hong Kong… It’s here – next year – the Lions International Convention will be in New Orleans at the Morial Convention Center.
Lions Jerry Paige and Ed Ball recently had a meeting with Mr. Cook of Northwood High School. There seems to be an interest in a Leo Club – once they can get a staff person to play as the sponsor.
No Cub Sight program scheduling until the summer has ended. Stay tuned for more information.

Tailtwisting: Lion TT Archambeau had Lion Mike Middleton passing the pot. Lion Bud Byrd was assessed a fine for not doing the Pledge to the TT’s liking. Some folks were fined for lacking-of-vest-wearing syndrome. Then we had the Shreveport-Bossier trivia questions – really – historical trivia… Thanks Lion Bill for a fun time.

PROGRAM: Lion Bryan Self introduced no stranger to the Club – Mr. Terry Pipes. He gave us a biographical overview of his life and the Pipes’ family. Terry is a U.S. Navy veteran – time he hated then – but he is proud of it now. He told several jokes – or were they??? It was an entertaining time with many laughs from the audience. WE SURE WISH MORE PEOPLE WOULD ATTEND THE MEETINGS TO SUPPORT SUCH GOOD PEOPLE WHO GIVE OUR CLUB THEIR TIME.

BLUE TICKET: Lion Trey Gleason failed to pull the winning Queen for $118.50.

ATTENDANCE: Lion Pete Copes was not here to claim the attendance prize.
