Opening:  Presiding: President Merle Gore; Prayer: Lion Jimmie Giles; Pledge: Lion Robert Schwartz; Song: Lion Patricia Schwartz, Lion Jimmie Giles sounding the cymbals.  20 of the 23 in attendance today are members.

 

PRAYERS:  All members and their families. 

VISITING:  Lion Gloria Lynch introduced her husband, Billy Lynch SPD Corporal Mary Coburn.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: President Gore gave a short review of yesterday’s Board Meeting.

 

Tailtwisting:  Tailtwister Bill Archambeau had Lion Jerry Paige passing the pot.  Lion Gloria fined for no pin; Lion Russ Peterson was invited to do wheelies on his motorcycle; a vote on the best of the three gentlemen wearing ties today: Lion Trey Gleason, Robert Schwartz and Stu Reeks Robert wins!

Lion P. Schwartz was penalized for inadequate directing of the cymbal playing.  Then, the TT did trivia questions.  Another great session!!!

 

PROGRAM:  Lion Gloria Lynch introduced City of Shreveport CAO Tom Dark.  He is now serving the City under the seventh mayor since he started working for the city in 1975.  He spoke on Shreveport’s Quality of Life, specifically, LESS CRIME and stronger Code Enforcement!!!  This was the usual concern of the citizens who attended town hall meetings.  Jim Holt now heads-up Code Enforcement and they are being joined by SPD’s Community Liaison Officers.   A new project is that a California-based movie studio wants to invest in a development in the Ledbetter Heights area…Please visit their website: www.ci.shreveport.la.us

 

Ticket Drawings: The $5.00 ticket winners were: Lions Patricia Schwartz and Trey Gleason. BLUE TICKET:  Visitor Billy Lynch failed to pull the winning Queen. ATTENDANCE: Lion Gary Kennedy was not here.
