ANNOUNCEMENTS:

¨      Lion Patricia Schwartz WE NEED MEMBERS OR THEIR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES TO HELP WITH THE OCTOBER 7TH COOKING AND THE OCTOBER 8TH DELIVERY DATE.

¨      The BIG BASS RODEO will be Saturday, September 25th.  Please support it.

¨      Lion Patricia Schwartz announced that the District 8L Fall Conference will be held September 9 at the Bossier Convention Center.

 

Tailtwisting:  Lion TT Archambeau quizzed the group on television trivia. Knowledge of Batman trivia seemed to be in short supply. 

PROGRAM: Lion Hubert Gleason introduced John David Stewart, former Shreveport City Council member.  Former councilman Stewart fielded questions regarding issues confronting the citizens of Shreveport. Among these questions were questions related to the new bus terminal, and the hotel complex. Mr. Stewart hinted that he “might” sometime in the future be interested in running for mayor.

 

Ticket Drawings: The red ticket winners were: Lions Bryan Self and Trey Gleason.  

 

BLUE TICKET:  Lion Hubert Gleason pulled the blue ticket with disappointing results.

 

ATTENDANCE:    Lisa Nash was the name pulled, but was not in attendance.


 


MAJOR PROJECTS: Louisiana Lions Childrens’ Camp, LSU Lions’ Eye Foundation, Northwest Louisiana Eye Bank, Louisiana Association for the Blind, Northwood High School Leo Club, Scholarships for Northwood and Green Oaks High Schools
