ANNOUNCEMENTS:

¨      Contributions for the PDG Craig Kennedy Memorial Fund may be sent to NSLC, P.O. Box 78204, Shreveport, LA  71137

¨      Lion Patricia Schwartz made a passionate plea for members to re-dedicate their commitment to the North Shreveport Lions Club.  She was inspired to make such a plea while attending PDG Craig’s funeral last week; after all – that is what Craig would like to see of each one of us.

¨      Lion Bryan Self announced the “perks” for each club which gets twenty new members during this calendar year.  The awards will be a special banner and President Stuart Reeks will receive a special diamond pin for his club’s productivity.

¨      On July 31st from 8:30-10:00 a.m., the YMCA has invited club members to a reception and information meeting at Camp Forbing – all NSLC members are invited.

Tailtwisting:  Lion TT Archambeau and Lion Paul Little again got a few for being late and then some entertaining questions were asked.  Again, it was the usual great time.

PROGRAM: Lion Patricia Schwartz introduced Mr. Mike Riches, Regional Vice-President for Pre-Paid Legal Services.  He remarked that more people in the U.S. are affected by Identity Theft more than Burglary.  It really is an easy crime to commit and not being caught at committing. (Don’t forget Sheriff Prator’s episode of such a crime.)  Recent scams include crimes involving the families of our deployed military; Hotel “smart keys” also hold your credit card information; Student loans are another avenue of theft; Tips: (1) Regularly examine your credit report; (2) Don’t give out your information to unknown/questionable sources; (3) Shred your mail that has your important information, especially, those that our showing you are “pre-approved”.

Ticket Drawings: The red ticket winners were: Lions Bill Alexander and Scott Harkey.

BLUE TICKET:  Lion Jerry Paige failed to pull the Queen for the $75 pot.

Attendance Prize: Lion Pete Copes  was present to win – however, no badge – pot keeps growing.
