Program: Lion Gloria Kennedy introduced Mrs. Kathryn Usher, Director of Public and Community Relations for the Louisiana Federation of Families for Childrens’ Mental Health (kusher@laffcmh.com webpage: www.laffcmh.com).  The mission of the Federation is to develop and maintain a financially independent family run organization which functions as the statewide information, referral and support network for families and serves as a united voice in advocacy efforts on behalf of children with emotional, behavioral or mental disorders and their families….Kathryn presented a lot of good, useful information about her organization.  There are a lot of people in our state who have mental health problems and this Foundation is there for the kids and their families.  It is estimated that between 110,000 and 260,000 kids in our state are in-need of some degree of mental health assistance, or 1 out of 4 families in Louisiana need MH assistance.  Kathryn thanks for coming and for the interesting information.  Try this link for more information: Louisiana Federation of Families for Childrens' Mental Health
