Tailtwisting:  Lion TT Bill Archambeau had Lion Gabby Garbarino as the “potboy”.  Several had “Happy Birthday” sung to them.  They included: Lions Gene Bacon, Steve Davitt, Russ Peterson, Gabby Garbarino and Robbie Raiford. Also noted were spouse birthdays of Lions Oscar Smith, Herb Harlan and Stuart Reeks. August is the month that Lion Rubye Davitt joined our club.  Lion Oscar Smith was fined for arriving late.  Then lots of Millionaire questions were asked and lots of fun and fines were the result.

PROGRAM:  Lion Stuart Reeks introduced Ms. Colleen Leonard, Program Director, Louisiana Problem Gamblers Helpline.  She gave information about problems of gambling.  Interesting trivia (serious trivia):  Callers’ problems which incite them to call for help include:  financial = 89%; Marital problems = 46%; or family problems = 53%.  If someone wants to start “helping” themselves, they can also “self-evict” themselves from each of the casinos.  Call the 1.877.770.7867 to get started.  Gambling problems also causes a growing amount of white collar crimes where employees steal from the businesses which employs them.  Website information about problems with gambling: www.gamblersanonymous.org.

Ticket Drawings: The red ticket winners were: Lions Jimmie Giles and Russ Peterson.

BLUE TICKET:  NOPE, Lion Bill Archambeau didn’t get it -- the pot is over $133!

Attendance Prize: Lion John Manno, Sr. was not in attendance so the pot is getting bigger.
