ANNOUNCEMENTS: Get dues paid. Chicken charbroil will be October 18, 2007 (cooking) and October 19, 2007. Eye Foundation board meeting in Metairie Saturday. Contact Lion Gloria for details.
Tailtwisting:
Lion TT Bill Archambeau fined latecomers and began with a list of things
our mothers taught us. Very informative.
PROGRAM: Lion Mike Middleton introduced World War II veterans Mr. Joe McDonald and Mr. Wes Browning. These fine gentlemen spoke of the relationships they developed during wartime and thereafter. Mr. Browning was a surviving member of the infamous Bataan death march and years of imprisonment in Japan. Mr. McDonald was a sailor on the USS Missouri and was in Japan during the signing of Japan’s unconditional surrender. Thanks to these gentlemen and those like them who have served our country.
