Tailtwisting: Lion TT Archambeau again had PDG Paul Little holding the pot. First he hit the usual late comers. Then 4 PDG’s were fined for meeting before the meeting without having a meeting (I guess you had to be there). Lion Jimmy Giles was assessed for holding up the meeting to put on his vest. Then the Twister started with the questions about Shreveport/Bossier – it was pointed out by Lion Bill Alexander that these questions were “trivial”. Lion Scott Harkey closed the program by stuttering through a joke about Bible salesmen.
PROGRAM: Lion Merrell Gore introduced Ms. Roxanne Johnson, Ms. Johnson is the CEO of the Northwest Louisiana YWCA. She sees life at its “rawest”- women who have been through physical and emotional abuse. Louisiana is number 1 when it comes to women being killed at the hands of their abusers. She told some horrible almost unbelievable stories about women being abused and stripped of their dignity as human beings. She deals with helping women deal with these problems, women that are suffering. There are many challenges in her organization. Empowering, supporting, encouraging women. A great place doing a great work.
