Tailtwisting:  Lion TT Bill Archambeau appointed Lion Bryan Self as the potboy.  Kevin Anderson, Pete Copes were tagged for being late.  Fines were assessed for those not wearing their vests.  It was a short session since there were so many announcements – thanks, Lion Bill - we appreciate your Lions commitment.

PROGRAM:   Lion Jimmie Giles introduced Ms. Paula Bennett, Executive Director of the North Louisiana Lions Eye Bank.  At the top of her things-to-do, Paula will improve on our community’s knowledge about the existence of the Bank and what they do.  She told of the great staff which assists the many aspects of administering the Bank.  Our Bank covers 33 parishes between the Texas-line and the Red River.  The waiting list for the cornea transplant is more than 60 people.  Last year, they transplanted 102 of the 116 corneas received last year.  We have the most successful transplant record (of the three banks in Louisiana).  Only corneas are retrieved at this point and they do their best to assign corneas to those in-need in the 33 parish area.  Soon, they will resume retrieving the whole eye for education purposes.  Paula asks that all Lions let their family and friends know of the work of Our Bank.  (Ed. Note – It seems you did a great job in selecting our incumbent Director – Thanks)
