Tailtwisting: Lion TT Archambeau had PDG Paul Little holding the pot. Lion President Reeks was fined for being a little late starting the meeting and for allowing our visitor to do a special sing-a-long in the top of the program rather than allowing the TT to make the presentation.
The fine was for allowing Weslaco, Texas member Lion Dave Allen to play guitar and a music box machine to all time patriotic song God Bless America. He also led the Birthday song for Lions Dan Delaney and Libby Gleason. It was a very special treat and Lion Dave remarked of how proud he is to be a Lion. He is traveling a lot and visiting clubs each year and attended the Lions International.
The TT then launched into Shreveport Trivia questions.
PROGRAM: Lion Ed Ball introduced Chief Deputy Garland Weidner, Caddo Parish Tax Assessor’s Office. He gave information concerning the “rolling” of taxes either forward or backward. Property taxes are required by state law to be re-assessed every four years. He then answered general questions about the methodology of tax assessing and procedures.
