NEXT WEEK’S PROGRAM:  No Program on 10/6

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Tailtwisting:  Lion Archambeau appointed Lion Bryan Self as the potboy.  The session was short because of all the announcements. The late ones were Lions Ed Ball and Larry LaBorde.

PROGRAM:   Lion Bud Byrd presented wife, Lion Nita Byrd.  She is the 8-L Diabetes Education representative.  She was diagnosed with Diabetes in about 1998.  Diabetes is when the blood sugar gets out of sync within the body – it is similar to gasoline in our cars.  About 800,000 people are affected by Type I Diabetes.  Type II is another type and those with excess weight are at a greater risk.  Lion Nita gave lots of great of information which could easily take up three editions of The Yellow Rag.  However, it seems we all need to stay in good communication with our doctors, exercise regularly, eat healthy and maintain a healthy weight.  Thanks to Lion Nita Byrd for her information.  Also, the club thanks Lions Bud and Nita for their son Todd Byrd who recently got us into General Motors to sell nearly 1,900 boat raffle tickets.

Ticket Drawings: The $5.00 red ticket winners were: Lions Stuart Reeks and Ed Ball.

BLUE TICKET:  Lion Hubert Gleason  failed to pull the winning Queen  -- next week $208.00+.
