NOTES/Remarks:

• NSLC Social at the Schwartz home from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 19^th.
• Big Bass Rodeo… PDG Bud Byrd noted the Rodeo was really great and someone from Ponchitoula won the boat and someone else down south won the runner-up fishing trip. About $40,000 in profit will be split between the Camp and Eye Foundation. Lots of door prizes were given out and each child got a Zebco rod & reel. Lion Nita Byrd won six prizes since she and Bud bought so many chances.
• The Chicken Charbroil will be on October 9^th and distribution of the birds will occur on Friday, October 10^th. Lions Mike Middleton and PDG Bryan Self will chair. Contact Lions Gleason, Bryan or Mike to signup for the work detail.
• Also, the next week Lion Mike is asking for any volunteers to help on another project October 16^th thru 18^th. This will be to cook pork ribs to help benefit, the Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of the Special Olympics – Louisiana. Please note that this project will begin on 10/16 instead of the earlier report of 10/15. Contact Lion Mike to assist – PLEASE!!!
• October 25^th 8-L Fall Conference, Ramada on Monkhouse Drive. 8-L Governor Bonnie Pharr is asking for us to have as many people as possible for the Conference. Please sign-up right away.
• Lion Charlie Smith announced that Lion Cindy Fortson will be filling-in on the piano when Lion Bobbie Raiford is not at the meetings. Thanks, Cindy!!!
• The Eye Foundation will be having a raffle for Sugar Bowl tickets and a New Orleans condo.
• Lion Craig Kennedy noted that everyone should keep out an eye for the new Red Ball Oxygen Company.

Tailtwisting: Lion TT Bill Archambeau had Lion Bryan Self as the pot-walker. Those in attendance were recognized as noted: Lion Matt Delaney for his birthday and for just being at a meeting; Club anniversaries: Lions Larry LaBorde, Russ Peterson; for matrimonial anniversaries: Lions Patricia Schwartz (and Robert), Matt Delaney. Then the TT went into his Who Wants questions. TailTwister Archambeau kept remarking as to how he believed his questions were “simple” – to which Lion Bud Byrd asked to Lion Archambeau “then why do you (BA1) have to keep looking at the back of the question cards to check what the answer is – a great laugh from the crowd. A real fun time was had by all.

Program: Lion Larry LaBorde introduced the speaker and told of the speaker’s family – Lion Larry LaBorde. Larry presented “Chicken Dollars” and several other of his articles in his History of Money series. Most of the articles can be read on the back pages of Lion Larry’s web site at www.silvertrading.net.

Ticket Drawings: The red ticket winners were: Lion Ed Stevenson and prospective member Ms. Elena Corley.

BLUE TICKET: Lion Gene Bacon failed to draw the Queen of Hearts

Attendance Prize: Lion John Manno, Sr. was not present to collect the pot – again.
