ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Tailtwisting:  Lion TT Archambeau had Lion Paul Little holding the pot.  Again, a few petty fines and then he launched into the Shreveport-Bossier Trivia questions. Oh yeah, a few late ones.

PROGRAM: Lion Patricia Schwartz introduced her daughter, Ashley DeLapp.  Ashley, married to Dr. David DeLapp, is a Physical Therapist in Leesville. They are expecting twins in January. She graduated #2 from high school, attended Northeast University and the Allied Health and Sciences Center of the LSU Health and Sciences Center.  She noted that only 32% of the folks over 65 participate in a fitness program.  Of the over 75 group, the numbers fall.  However, to contrast this information, only 50% of school age children participate in such a program.  Ashley spoke of the many benefits of regular exercise.  It helps bones and all muscles --- including an important muscle known as the heart.  Prior to beginning a program -- always get medically cleared from a physician.  Start slow and increase your stamina – don’t just jump in and get yourself ready for a marathon or Atlas contest.  Drink plenty of water while you exercise.  Take it easy if you have arthritis and there may be another exercise technique to allow the same benefits to make it easier on the body.  The exercise program should always be tailored to your needs and abilities.  A good program will help your physical and emotional needs.

Ticket Drawings: The red ticket winners were: Lions Larry LaBorde and Bryan Self.
