Opening:  President Max Lipscomb called the meeting to order and Lion Bill Alexander thanked GOD for HIS many blessings.  Lion Gloria Kennedy led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Lion Steve Davitt led us in the first verse with Lion Paul Little sounding the cymbals and Lion Robbie Raiford accompanying on the piano.

Visitors:  There were no visitors at today’s meeting.  There were 27 members present.

Remarks: Lion Max reminded us that the next Zone 1-A meeting will be at Willis-Knighton’s Community Center on November 19th at 6:30 p.m… Lion Hubert Gleason will be turning-in the order for nuts and candy on next Monday, November 18th – his home phone number is 869-3809 – get your orders in to Hubert.

Max read us a letter of appreciation from the Leader Dog program for the club’s contribution….  Lion Gloria Kennedy told us of the need for funds for the Louisiana Eye Foundation.  $20 tickets are being sold for a chance at a Chevy Corvette – see Gloria or Craig for your tickets and be sure to read your Eye Foundation newsletters.

Memorial contributions for Lion Charlyne Langton are coming in the mail.  Thus far we know of one each from Dorothy Monette Holler and the Shreveport Geological Auxiliary.

BOARD MEETING (11/13/02):  Lion Hubert Gleason reminded us that at yesterday’s Board Meeting the club presented a Memorial Fund gift on behalf of recent deceased charter club member – Richard Johnson.  We are starting planning for next year’s fundraising benefits.  Of course, we hope Lion Jenny Moore will again head-up the Irish Auction –someone suggested we try the University Club and Scott is checking on that venue.

Lion Gloria mentioned that Lion Craig today is attending his last meeting as an officer on LABI.

The club today voted to ring-the-bell for the Salvation Army.
