ANNOUNCEMENTS:

¨      The Christmas meeting will be held on December 15, 2005 at 6:30.  Cost will be $10 per person.  Please bring spouse or significant other to meeting.  No noon meeting on that day.  (Originally scheduled for Dec 22)

¨      There will be no meeting on December 22, 2005.

¨      There was a Cub Sight screening on Thursday morning, November 17, at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard.  Many Lions showed up to lend a hand.  Thanks to all who helped.

¨      The club is currently considering “twinning” with a club from South Louisiana who was adversely affected by the hurricanes.  More on this later.

¨      PDG Gleason announced that the Nut Sale netted approximately $800 for the club.

¨      Please get Chicken Charbroil money into PP Mike Middleton ASAP if you have not already done so.

¨      The Irish Auction is on for March 2006.  Please get prizes donated.

Tailtwisting:  Lion Bill Archambeau fined late comers ones before embarrassing the crowd and himself with local trivia.

PROGRAM: PDG Bryan Self introduced Missy Setters with the Independence Bowl.  She is an LSU grad and the spouse of former LSU offensive lineman Ross Setters.  She informed the audience that this is the 30th annual Independence Bowl, hard to believe it’s been that long.  She indicated the Bowl has a couple of good leads on a title sponsor for next year and there may be an announcement in the next couple of weeks.  The Bowl has tie-ins with the SEC and Big 12 conferences.  They currently get the 6th pick out of the SEC and the 5th pick from the Big 12.  They are looking at Florida or South Carolina in the SEC and maybe Missouri in the Big 12.  A lot could change in the next two weeks.  Very good program.

Ticket Drawings: The $5.00 red ticket winners were: PDG Paul Little and PP Stu Reeks.
