Tailtwisting:
Prior to the Tailtwisting Session, new NSLC
member Lion Joe Partain was allowed
to tell about himself. Joe is a life-long
Tailtwister Bill Archambeau had Lion Steve
Davitt carrying the pot. Several
were fined for being late. A small fine
was assessed for The Yellow Rag mis-identifying
the Tailtwister in a recent edition
The monthly birthday song was
performed (directed by Tailtwister accompanied on cymbals by Lion Bryan
Self) for the following: visiting-District Governor Ann Sanders, PDG
Jimmie Giles, and Lions Stuart Reeks, Alan Yokem and in-memoriam Lion John
Harkey - Lion Scott Harkey stood up for him. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!!!
PROGRAM: Lion Oscar Smith introduced District Governor Ann Sanders of the
Springhill Lions Club. She thanked NSLC
and all clubs for the female membership and involvement!!! Speaking of involvement, she asks all members
to help enlist new members for the club and for all club members to be INVOLVED
in the club’s projects and operations. Eye
Foundation: DG Sanders told the club that damage
from Hurricane Katrina was pretty much confined (for the major part) to the
first floor on the Eye Foundation. She
is in the process of acquiring a grant from International Paper for replacing
the Foundation’s furniture. The
Foundation is asking all clubs to do one additional project for its
benefit. Childrens Camp: The only damage at the Camp were trees blown
down and for the most part, they have or will be turned into a financial plus
by selling them. An annual workday will
soon be announced. North Louisiana Eye Bank: They can also use some more funding – there
are 62 patients on the transplant list. International
Convention: Has been re-directed to
Ticket
Drawings: The
$5.00 red ticket winners were: Lions Bill Archambeau and Jimmie Giles.
BLUE TICKET: Lion Jimmie Giles failed
to pull the
winning Queen -- next week $280.00+.
ATTENDANCE: Lion
Lester Morehead was not here to claim the attendance prize.
