Tailtwisting:

Prior to the Tailtwisting Session, new NSLC member Lion Joe Partain was allowed to tell about himself.  Joe is a life-long Shreveport-Bossier City resident and a graduate from Louisiana Tech University as an Architect.  He has been around construction all his life as his father was a carpenter.  Joe and his wife have purchased a home in Greenwood which is over 100 years old – they will be spending the next twenty years re-modeling it.  We wish them the best of luck, and by-the-way – WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!!

Tailtwister Bill Archambeau had Lion Steve Davitt carrying the pot.  Several were fined for being late.  A small fine was assessed for The Yellow Rag mis-identifying the Tailtwister in a recent edition

The monthly birthday song was performed (directed by Tailtwister accompanied on cymbals by Lion Bryan Self) for the following: visiting-District Governor Ann Sanders, PDG Jimmie Giles, and Lions Stuart Reeks, Alan Yokem and in-memoriam Lion John Harkey - Lion Scott Harkey stood up for him.  GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!!!

PROGRAM:   Lion Oscar Smith introduced District Governor Ann Sanders of the Springhill Lions Club.  She thanked NSLC and all clubs for the female membership and involvement!!!  Speaking of involvement, she asks all members to help enlist new members for the club and for all club members to be INVOLVED in the club’s projects and operations.   Eye Foundation: DG Sanders told the club that damage from Hurricane Katrina was pretty much confined (for the major part) to the first floor on the Eye Foundation.  She is in the process of acquiring a grant from International Paper for replacing the Foundation’s furniture.  The Foundation is asking all clubs to do one additional project for its benefit.  Childrens Camp:  The only damage at the Camp were trees blown down and for the most part, they have or will be turned into a financial plus by selling them.  An annual workday will soon be announced.  North Louisiana Eye Bank:  They can also use some more funding – there are 62 patients on the transplant list.  International Convention:  Has been re-directed to Boston, MA.  Louisiana State Convention:  It will be held in Bossier City in April.  She challenges all members to attend the State’s Convention.
